Rack Tuner: Free Rack Tuner Plugin by Dead Signal Audio
Dead Signal Audio has released Rack, a free rack tuner plugin tailored specifically for electric guitar and bass tracking in modern digital audio workstations. The utility provides strobe-style visual feedback optimized for low-end clarity, handling everything from standard 6-string setups to down-tuned 7-string and 8-string instruments. Producers can download Rack directly from the developer as a 100% freeware utility without any sign-up requirements.
Precision Strobe Tuning for Modern Guitarists
Tracking heavy or extended-range guitars often challenges standard software tuners, particularly when pitch detection algorithms falter on drop-tuned low strings. Rack addresses this by offering quick, reliable detection calibrated for drop and standard tunings commonly used in modern metal and heavy rock production. Built-in presets cover configurations such as Standard, Drop D, Drop C, and B Standard, eliminating the need to manually re-calibrate reference notes before tracking takes.
Rackmount Aesthetics and Specs
Designed in the visual spirit of classic 19-inch studio hardware, Rack features a high-contrast display that remains easy to read from across the control room. The strobe display delivers instantaneous tracking response without introducing latency to your monitoring chain.
